Clash of the Mammoths This one-of-a-kind exhibit features the fossils of two large bull mammoths whose tusks locked together during an Ice Age battle for dominance. During the struggle one mammoth slipped, and they both fell to the earth still locked in combat. Unable to separate, unable to rise, they died where they fell. Extraordinarily preserved, they remained undisturbed for over 10,000 years. Now you will see them just as they were found—forever intertwined. More » |
