Laser technicians and graduate students from the Extreme Light Lab (ELL) at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln will help visitors learn more about the nature of light and laser technology.
Children and families will learn what light is and how it interacts with matter, plus the many modern day applications of lasers. Visitors will learn how lasers work, better understand the speed of light and explore different types of lasers through interactive demonstrations. Children will have an opportunity to participate in fun and interactive demonstrations to learn why the sky is blue, why sunsets are red, how light bends, how light refracts, and why lasers are important. Children will create their own telescope and further explore the ELL Diocles laser system one of highest intensity lasers in the world.
