Visitors will learn about shark adaptations, how animals survive in a particular habitat, plus more at “Naturally Selected” themed Sunday with a Scientist at Morrill Hall (14th and Vine Streets, UNL City Campus. The program for children and families is February 19 from 1:30-4:30pm.
To celebrate national Darwin Day, University of Nebraska-Lincoln biology graduate students will lead activities to help visitors explore evolution.
Children and families will take a voyage traveling around the Museum learning about animals and plants Charles Darwin observed during his travels. Children will have an opportunity to build an animal adapted to a specific habitat and trace the evolutionary history of humans and animals using the “Tree of Life” interactive touch table. Can humans smell as well as ants? Visitors will learn more about scent communication through an interactive scent trail game. Be sure to bring a camera for a selfie with Darwin.
